Job Description
Working within the structures and systems of our Dual Enrollment partnerships with Bakersfield College, you will instruct Student Development B3 and lead supplemental college lab asynchronous course support. All incoming Grade 9 students will take STDV B3 in either the Fall or Spring to help prepare for success in dual enrollment and High School A-G courses. Additionally, other class blocks will feature Learning Labs and other content to help drive success in college and post-secondary learning.
This course guides students through a decision-making process that will help them envision and plan for a future that is productive, achievable, and stimulating. The culmination of this process is the development of a career and educational plan that will create a pathway for students to reach their career and academic goals. Critical thinking skills will be utilized through a systematic approach to career development by examining values, interests, skills, life roles, personality types, personal self-management, decision-making, and goal setting throughout the life span.

Qualifications
- Current Single Subject California Teaching credential in any content, required
- Master's Degree in counseling, required
- 1 year of classroom teaching experience, preferred
- Proficient in technology
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Participate in development and teaching of cross-curriculum projects that incorporate technology and/or digital arts into all subject areas.
- Creates lesson plans, aligned with CCSS and departmental standards.
- Familiarity with growth mindset, project/inquiry-based learning, core competencies, and authentic assessment
- Proven record of developing clear and highly organized yearlong curriculum maps, units, and lesson plans tied to goals/objectives and student expectations
- Maintains a safe, organized classroom, which supports students' independent learning, collaboration, and choice.
- Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
- Interest in fostering diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice to promote a healthy learning environment
- Provides a variety of assessments and uses assessments for planning and instruction.
- Monitors and maintains a positive classroom environment that supports the school-wide behavior expectations in which students are engaged and incorporates mutual respect while providing cooperative learning opportunities.
- Uses available technology/instructional media to enhance the students' learning experiences.
- Establishes and maintains appropriate relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members by communicating in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner.
- Appropriately communicates and interacts with other professional staff in academic planning and school committee work.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and extra-curricular/school-related activities and committees.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth and works with administrators to formulate and complete professional development plans.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible.

Pay Range: $63,180 - $105,402. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
