High School Science Teacher

Girard College seeks an innovative and collaborative High School Science Educator to join our team. Our school takes a project-based interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving that integrates different science concepts (i.e., Biology, Chemistry, Physics) into thematic project-based units. This individual will work with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary, inquiry-based learning experiences. Versatility, collaboration, and openness to innovative instructional practices are essential. The Science Teacher reports to the High School Principal.
The High School is a small team of approximately 20 instructors that support 120 students so an ability to collaborate is crucial to this role's success.
Experience in some of the following courses are desirable: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Sustainability, Horticultural Ecology, Physics, Robotics, Web Design

Qualifications
Education Background and Minimum Requirements:
- Teaching Experience highly preferred with a proven record of high academic and social achievement
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree in education, in the specific core content job area
- Must possess a minimum of a Level I Instructional Certificate or above in the content area in which they are teaching from the PA Department of Education or must obtain Instructional Intern Certificate in the content area in which they teach within one year from date of hire.

- Local candidates preferred as there is no relocation reimbursement available.
- This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
