Bishop Carroll Catholic High School is seeking a dynamic building principal for grades 9-12 for approximately 1,200 students and 76 teachers. - Practicing Catholic stewards who are committed to a mission of forming disciples of Jesus Christ
- Eligible for Kansas licensure as an administrator
- Passionate about Catholic education and teenagers
- Experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Cooperates with the president to carry out the Church's teaching mission in the school. Promulgates teachings consistent with established Catholic principles and conducts self at all times in a manner consistent with Catholic moral standards.
- Shares with the president the oversight of the faith development and spiritual formation of the school. Builds a faith community among faculty, staff, and families, modeling and promoting Catholic virtues through word and action.
- Is responsible for the hiring, assignment of duties and the evaluation of assistant principals, licensed teachers and office staff.
- Coordinates and maintains school accreditation as defined by Diocesan practices and policies and the accrediting agency.
- Oversees the faculty and office staff evaluations following the defined Diocesan format for licensed teachers. Provides constructive feedback through regular classroom observations in a consistent manner for individual teacher growth.
- Is chief officer of all curriculum management, assures it is updated, utilized and, assessed in coordination with the diocese curriculum for the basic coursework.
- Supervises and oversees all campus ministry activities, meeting regularly with chaplain and campus ministers in the planning and assessing of faith based opportunities.
- Monitors, assesses and provides for the academic services offered to the students of all levels of academia.
- Provides for the ongoing professional development and licensure of all teachers. Promotes opportunities for the teachers to assure future growth in effective teaching practices. Gives attention to staying up-to-date with current best practices for teachers. Serve as a resource for individual teacher professional development. Oversees the licensure and certification of teachers.
- Oversees all student activities and student discipline. Collaborates with assistant principal and athletic directors for the supervision of High School events. Collaborates with the president, assistant principals, athletic director and other involved employees in serious situations.
- Oversees the Guidance and Support Services offered in the school. Defines the role of these positions, meets regularly with this department to stay abreast current topics.
- Monitor, accommodates and evaluates the use of instructional technology as integrated in effective teaching practices and student learning.
- Establishes the school calendar and school schedules for day to day events and routines.
- Supervises Athletics as related to students, athletic director, coaches, and schedules
