We are looking for a High School History Teacher. The candidate will teach various classes and be responsible for lesson planning, teaching, grading, etc. The ideal candidate will be competent in prioritizing and working with little supervision, and be self-motivated and trustworthy. He or she will be engaging and outgoing, with the ability to spark a love of learning in our students. This candidate may also have the ability to teach other subject areas, and could be considered for a full-time position. The teacher ensures the smooth running of the classroom, uses effective classroom management, and maintains a well-organized learning environment, office space, storage area, etc. Biblical integration is of utmost importance to support a Christian worldview.

 

Spiritual Qualities:

  • Gives evidence of being a born again Christian and attends and supports a local church

  • Employee will demonstrate the qualities of a Christian role model

  • Employee must be a born again Christian and attend and support a local church

  • Employee has the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to “train up a child in the way he should go”.

  • Employee cooperates with the staff and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.

  • Employee teaches classes as assigned following prescribed scope and sequence as outlined in the grade level curriculum guides.

  • Employee integrates Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.

 

Additional Details:

 

  • Maintains proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a positive learning environment.

  • Maintains a clean, well-ordered classroom.

  • Plans adequately using online lesson planner

  • Assesses student performance through a variety of methods, and keeps current with grading and recording

  • Attends staff meetings and daily devotions.

  • Follows the guidelines and procedures as outlined in the parent/student handbook.

  • Builds relationships with student families

  • Conducts parent conferences as needed.

  • Maintains student report cards and submits all paperwork and documentation to the office by stated deadlines.

  • Attends all staff in-services and teacher orientation meetings.

  • Attends school social events.

  • Updates curriculum mapping through prescribed platform

  • Applies for and maintains ACSI certification

 

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Ability to teach High School History class(es).

  • The ideal candidate will be engaging and outgoing, with the ability to spark a love for education in our students.

  • The ideal candidate will also have the ability to teach other subject areas, and could be considered for a full-time position.

 

Minimum Education Requirements:

 

  • Must hold at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the subject or closely related field that the candidate will be teaching.

 

 

  • Ability to stand and sit for prolonged time, bend, stoop, and stretch

  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment.

  • Normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Typical Mental Requirement:

 

  • Able to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials, and input information into a computer.

  • Understands people and effectively communicates with them, answering questions in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills for effective interaction with the public

  • Able to make effective decisions in the supervisor’s absence.

 

 

Equipment Skill Set:

 

  • Capable in operation of a computer/laptop and basic

  • Competent in applications such as Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Google's "G Suite for Education" & FACTS Student Information Systems.
