The Head Softball coach for JHHS would be expected to be available from the beginning of the season, approximately March 2025 thru May 2025.
Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Wyoming Coaching Permit with an endorsement in Softball (http://wyomingptsb.com/)
Coaching Requirements
1.PERMIT from the Professional Teaching Standards Board (PTSB):
You can apply for a head coach, assistant coach, or transitional coach.

Coaching Endorsements are offered in the following areas:
-Basketball -Football -Golf
-Softball -Skiing -Soccer
-Swimming -Tennis -Track/Cross Country
-Volleyball -Wrestling
Per the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board all paid coaches must have either a coaching endorsement (if you have a Wyoming Educator License) or a coaching permit (if you do not hold a Wyoming Educator License. Coaches must produce either a coaching endorsement or permit PRIOR to the season beginning. WS 21-7-303 Certificate or permit required.". . . no person shall teach or supervise in a public school in this state and receive compensation therefor out of any public fund who at the time of rendering such services is not a holder of or a candidate and qualified for a certificate or permit issued or to be issued under the laws of this state and the rules and regulations of the Wyoming PTSB pursuant to WS 21-2-802." If a permit is issued after the season, you may be eligible to receive compensation for the following coaching season, but not retroactively. If a permit is issued at any point during the season, you will receive prorated compensation depending on how much of the season was coached while properly permitted. Time spend coaching while unpermitted will be volunteered time.
2. Submit PTSB coaching Application:
Applications can be found here. It's vital you get this application mailed in PRIOR to season starting in order to be paid, reference statute above.
The application requires you to take U.S. and Wyoming Constitution Testing or you can submit college coursework that may meet this requirement.. College courses that would mean no testing would need to demonstrate knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and must cover U.S. History prior to 1865 and include the study of the Constitution. Political Science courses may be counted if the coursework included study of the Constitution. If there are questions about the content of the curriculum, PTSB may require an applicant to submit course descriptions. Graduates from a Wyoming Community College or the University of Wyoming have completed this coursework, however must have passed the course with a "C" or higher.

3.CPR Certification:
Coaches must also produce a current First Aid and CPR card prior to season beginning. CPR courses are offered by the district and you can contact Mike Hansen for any upcoming courses. Please Note: PTSB can not accept online courses for the 1st Aid/CPR requirement. The course must be HANDS-ON and conducted by a certified 1st Aid/CPR instructor (the American Heart Association's Heartsaver® program will be accepted). Also, 1st Aid/CPR cards or certificates must be current and valid, and issued within the last three years.
Coursework from any of the following organizations/institutions will satisfy the 1st Aid/CPR requirement for Coaching:
  • College or University Coursework in 1st Aid/CPR
  • American Red Cross 1st Aid/CPR Course
  • American Heart Association 1st Aid/CPR Course
  • The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Sport 1st Aid Course
  • American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Sport 1st Aid Course

4. Concussion/ and Bullying Certification:
These are free online courses offered through NFHS. To access them:

5.Fingerprinting
You will need to be fingerprinted for the state and the district. You will be required to do 4 fingerprint cards. 2 for PTSB and 2 for TCSD.
These can be done at any sheriff's office in the nation, fees vary by location, and are the responsibility of the applicant. Teton County requires an appointment. You can schedule one online at: http://www.tetonsheriff.org/?page_id=553
6. District Paperwork: We will supply you with required paperwork that will allow us to enter you into our software/payroll system.
