- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and work with frequent interruptions. multi-task is a necessity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn and navigate in Renweb for attendance monitoring and schedule needs
- Effective communication techniques and procedures including the ability to make announcements over the PA system
- Maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, and other staff
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Through knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The following are the responsibilities of the High School Attendance Clerkin relation to:
- SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP -
- Act as a spiritual leader of school and community.
- Show evidence of a consistent time of personal Bible study, prayer and outreach.
- Maintain a Christ-like attitude.
- STUDENT ATTENDANCE RECORD MAINTENANCE
- Verify daily attendance sign-in/out sheet and update student records.
- Review period attendance reports for corrections or mistakes
- Email daily attendance reports to teachers
- Contact teachers as needed pertaining to attendance questions/concerns.
- Enter parent and physician excuse letters into the database
- Attendance calls for absent students
- Compile and print reports for tardies and absences to send home.
- Print and alert of excessive tardiness and absenteeism for administrative referrals.
- Compile reports as needed for attendance incentives, remediation, and exam exemption
- Assign students to detention for excessive tardies, update live document with detention attendance
- GREETING/HELPING PARENTS, STUDENTS, AND VISITORS.
- General Questions.
- Monitor and provide access for students to enter the building from the rear/outside entrance using the camera and remote access system connected to the phone.
- Answering Phones.
- Correspondence with students, staff, and parents.
- Filing attendance notes and documents.
- Copying, scanning, and faxing documents.
- Calling students for administration.
- Make general announcements over the PA system.
- Contact and schedule teacher coverage when necessary.
- Help with the printing of academic awards for assembly each spring
- Assist with graduation planning
- Assist teachers as needed throughout the day
- Inventory and place orders for office supplies and teacher needs
- Assist with ordering and distribution of Senior caps and gowns
- Decorate for holidays
- Update bulletin boards in teachers lounges/offices
- Assist students who are behind in classes due to excessive absences
