Contract Terms: Nine Months Salary: $15.14 per hour and up depending on experience. Attend to the health requirements of High Needs students. Must be able to work independently under the supervision of certified special education staff.Performance Responsibilities: Assist in the instructional activities of students with severe disabilities; working with individuals or small groups.Keep students engaged and on task in general education classrooms.Assist students with academic work such as scribing written assignments and writing down answer choices.Prepare teaching materials and operate assistive technology devices.Set up communication device daily, making sure it gets charged when necessary.Maintain positive work environment.Assist teachers in carrying out recommended programs as prescribed by physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other related service providers.Chart students' progress as directed by certified teachers/case managers and/or therapists.Pick up, carry, and position children with multiple disabilities. Transfer students who weigh a minimum of 40 pounds from wheelchair to changing table, gait trainers, bike, stander and/or other equipment.Change diapers and clean or shower soiled children when necessary.Prepare and feed students when necessary; may include feeding by G-Tube.Under supervision of the school nurse, give students medications as required.
Other duties as so assigned. Qualifications: Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card. Successful completion of C.P.R.
certification. Trained in administering first aid. Good communication skills.
Moderation computer skills. AA Degree or 60 college hours Self Directed.Experience in working with severe special needs children.60 College Hours or AA DegreeExcellent organizational and time management skills.Excellent interpersonal relation skills.High school diploma or equivalency.
