Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Herpetologist to join our team. As a Herpetologist, you will study reptiles and amphibians, conducting research, collecting data, and contributing to conservation efforts. Duties:
- Conduct field surveys to identify and document reptile and amphibian species
- Collect samples, such as blood or tissue, for genetic analysis
- Monitor populations and habitats of reptiles and amphibians
- Analyze data collected from field studies and laboratory experiments
- Publish research findings in scientific journals
- Collaborate with other scientists and researchers on conservation projects
- Educate the public about reptiles and amphibians through presentations and outreach programs
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of reptile and amphibian biology, behavior, and ecology
- Proficient in conducting field surveys and data collection techniques
- Ability to analyze data using statistical software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for publishing research findings and presenting to diverse audiences
- Attention to detail for accurate data collection and analysis
- Strong problem-solving skills for addressing challenges in the field or lab
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team of researchers
