To provide 24-hour counseling/social work, advocacy, and helpline services to callers serviced by the ACT organization ensuring they are according to the guidelines, laws, and minimum standards of Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. and the State of Florida.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide empowerment-based counseling/social work services to helpline callers, including crisis intervention, shelter admissions. Provide safety planning and information and referrals. Discuss ACT services and related applicable victim services.

2. Triage sexual assault and domestic violence helpline

3. Assist with scheduling appointments for outreach services

4. Monitor rape crisis center supply needs and facility upkeep.

5. Maintain a professional working relationship with all staff, sexual assault nurse examiners, participants, volunteers, law enforcement representatives and other agencies and coordinates services.

6. Works with Director of Sexual Assault Services to develop accurate and effective operating plans in the sexual assault services programs.

7. Participate in community education events related to sexual assault services and dynamics.

8. Communicate with all departments regarding services, including but not limited to shelter services, outreach appointments and advocacy.

9. Maintains current and accurate records of callers, keeping all forms and records of callers up-to-date and in compliance with funding requirements.

10. Maintains contact and develops good working relationships with other agencies which may be in contact with ACT employees or participants.

11. Attend monthly department and staff meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION - TRAINING - EXPERIENCE:

Associate's Degree or better from four year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of psychological and sociological aspects of victimization and knowledge of community resources. Experience working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and the new and temporarily homeless. Ability to convey sensitivity to victims.

SKILLS - ABILITIES:

Ability to give and receive both information and ideas clearly and accurately in both writing or verbally. Includes written communications and verbal explanations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as a cooperative member of a management team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

A Valid Florida Drivers License and Valid Auto Insurance is required. A copy of each will be maintained in personnel file.
