Tire Technician

Wage $21.00hr - $25.00hr, starting wage based on experience.

Talking to the drivers/equipment users about any issues they are experiencing.

Inspecting and assessing tire tread levels, wear patterns, valve quality, and overall health.

Recommending appropriate repair treatment or replacement of tires on Dump Trucks, Tractor Trailers, and heavy equipment.

Repairing punctures and replacing faulty valves.

Installing new tires.

Balancing tires and completing wheel alignment procedures.

Conducting inventory and maintaining equipment.

Conducting road-side repairs.

Qualifications - External

- Minimum of 1 years Tire Technician experience Heavy Truck Tire/Heavy Equipment. 

- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Ability to get along with others.

- Displays a positive attitude.

- Presents a professional image as an employee.

- Ability to maintain composure in stressful/challenging situations.

- Ability to work evenings and nights as needed, to support construction operations.

35-hour Weather Guarantee after 30 days of employment, must be available to work 6 days during the seven-day work period.  Hours guaranteed; up to 35 hours (example: worked 20hrs, Actual Pay 35hrs; worked 38hrs, Actual Pay 38hrs). Weather pay is accrued on weekly accumulation, not hours per day. Holiday pay counts toward the 35-hour guarantee. 

Paid vacation - Accrued during the first year starting at 180 days, 2 weeks at 1 year; 3 weeks at 5 years; 4 weeks at 20 years of service.

Annual performance-based merit increases.
