Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic - Afternoon Shift

Montana Construction is a family owned and operated heavy construction company that specializes in all types of Sewer, Water, Bridge, and Emergency services for the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania municipalities, utility authorities as well as private entities.

Role

We are looking for a skilled senior Mechanic to maintain and repair machinery and vehicles during the Afternoon Shift (3pm to 11pm). You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
2. Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
3. Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, systems & trucks
4. Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
5. Trouble shoot hydraulic, electrical & fuel systems.
6. Keep logs of work and report on issues utilizing technology (tablet or phone)

Requirements

1. 5 or more years of successful hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, diagnostics, and be experienced with the latest electronically controlled machines. Must have experience with diagnostic software.
2. Must be able to communicate professionally.
3. Must perform work in a safe and responsible manner.
