We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operator to join our client's team in Garner, NC. Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy duty tow equipment to safely and efficiently tow vehicles, including trucks, buses, and other large vehicles, to designated locations.
- Respond to service calls in a timely manner and provide roadside assistance to stranded motorists.
- Assess the condition of vehicles and determine the most appropriate towing method.
- Secure vehicles properly using chains, straps, and other towing equipment to ensure safe transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members to coordinate towing operations and provide updates as needed.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tow trucks and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, towing activities, and vehicle inventories.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting motorists with vehicle-related issues and answering questions.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and uphold its reputation for reliability and excellence.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Skills:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating heavy duty tow trucks.
- Proven experience as a tow truck operator, preferably in heavy duty towing.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of towing equipment and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Knowledge of local roads and highways.
