Position summary: The Heavy Duty Forklift Operators operate very large high-capacity industrial forklifts used throughout the steel yard. The lifting capacity is much higher than a warehouse forklift between 30,000 – 125,000-pound loads. The loads consist of industrial steel pieces such as I-beams, columns, trusses, etc. Having a background with a CDL would be helpful. Other than communication with co-workers, this position also requires interaction with outside freight brokers. Employees must be able to occasionally lift material weighing as much as 75lbs. First shift operates Monday – Thursday 10 hours (either 5am-3:30pm, 6am-4:30pm or 7am-5:30pm), half days mandatory on Friday (full day optional), no Saturdays or Sundays.
