Fast growing company looking for a Diesel Tech to work on trucks and trailers used in the construction of roads and highways. Starting wage is $30 to $39 per hr. depending on experience. $2500 sign on bonus after 90 days. We offer Medical, Dental and Vision insurance company pays 75% of the employees premium. Paid time off after one year of service. 401k plan with company match. All Major holidays are paid. Shift runs from 10 am to 8 pm. Applicant will either be working out of our heated and air conditioned shop in Ogden, UT or be assigned a company shop truck to perform repairs in the field. 2 years experience is required or Associates degree in diesel technology. You will be working on Class 8 trucks, belly dump trailers, side dumps, and other types of equipment. Applicant must be willing to work some overtime and some weekends on occasion. Applicant must be highly motivated, a self starter and a team player. Class A CDL is a plus. This a perfect position for someone that enjoys not only having a great job but also contribute to helping the company grow. This is a full time year round position. Must be able to pass prehire drug screen.
- Diagnoses mechanical failures and repair tractor and trailer components according to manufacturer specifications
- Perform annual vehicle inspections, perform preventative maintenance.
- Perform brake jobs to include air brake overhauls, measure brake lining thickness, drums, S Cams replacement, bushings, slack adjusters, and replace relay valves and air tanks
- Diagnose, isolate and repair lighting system to include shorts and open circuits, cab repairs, king pin replacements, steering problem diagnosis / repair, drive train component diagnosis and replacement, suspension diagnosis and repair
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles with proper inspections
- Performs safety inspections on equipment and prepare safety documents required by DOT, company and any other Federal, State or Local regulations
- 2 years industry experience
- Must have own tools and tool box
- Brake certificate a plus
- Tool Mastery – safe operation of all Shop tools and personal protective equipment
- Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
