A&M Intermodal Inc. is a local / regional intermodal drayage carrier based out of the Southwest side of Chicago. All our trucks are home daily, and we are looking for qualified mechanics that can help us maintain our fleet. Ideal candidate will have their own tools and have the ability to work with our existing techs. Spanish speaking is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a safe and effective manner, maintaining a clean and organized garage
- Capable of diagnosing, repairing, and replacing external engine components
- Ensure all corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance on fleet vehicles is completed and up to date.
- Maintain fleet vehicles to ensure they are in safe working conditions, meeting DOT or other regulatory requirements
- Demonstrate foundational knowledge of preventative maintenance, replacement of parts/components, basic repairs as it pertains to trailer/intermodal chassis maintenance, air brake systems, and FHWA Inspections.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a mechanic
- Knowledge of shop equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Work independently and seek assistance as needed
- Candidate should have their own basic tools
