Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy-Duty Diesel engines and possess strong diagnostic and repair skills. 1. Perform routine maintenance on heavy-Duty Diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.

2. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.

3. Repair or replace faulty parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.

4. Conduct inspections and tests to ensure vehicles meet safety and emissions standards.

5. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to identify proper repair procedures.

6. Weld and fabricate parts as necessary for repairs or modifications.

7. Use computerized diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot complex engine systems.

8. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.

9. Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues regarding repair options and timelines.

10. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in a shop environment.

11. Stay updated on new technologies and advancements in heavy-Duty Diesel engine systems.

12. Train and mentor junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.

13. Provide on-call or emergency repair services for breakdowns or accidents.

14. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.

15. Collaborate with other departments such as parts procurement and vehicle operations to coordinate repair efforts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 50 per week
