Summary Description:
- Assists customers and solicits additional sales; charges out merchandise and makes necessary entries to the inventory control system; distributes special order parts; receives warranty parts; maintains shelf stock; keeps counter clear, clean, and neat.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets customers promptly and courteously.
- Answers telephone promptly and minimize hold calls.
- Take orders over the phone.
- Maintains customer addresses, telephone numbers, etc. up to date.
- Attempts sales of additional items, parts, and/or accessories.
- Ensures that the technician and customer receive parts in a timely manner.
- Maintains communication with customers regarding their parts.
- Enters required information in the inventory control system.
- Receives warranty parts and ensures that defective merchandise is properly tagged with the correct date and numbers.
- Answer’s customer’s questions about pricing, products, availability, and product features.
- Ensures cleanliness of products and counterpart area is clean and orderly.
- Ensures display areas are presentable and encourages sales.
- Ensures that product catalogs are current.
- Read catalogs to determine new parts on the market.
- Assists customers in locating parts.
- Ensures all necessary parts are stocked and ready for purchase.
- Determines replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
- Locates other vendors who have the part if it isn't carried in-store.
- Recommends substitute parts if parts are available.
- Examine parts for defects and exchange defective parts.
- Check out customers via cash or credit card authorization.
- Maintain inventory of stock and replenish when needed.
- Measure parts, using precision measuring instruments to determine whether similar parts may be machined to the required size.
- Mark and store parts in the stockroom according to the prearranged system.
- Maintains ongoing effective communication with customers about the status of their parts.
- Maintains an updated call log of part inquiries from phone calls.
- When working the parts counter, follows prescribed cash, credit transactions, and batch and ensures that OEROB is completed daily.
- Processes cores, warranties, and new return merchandise as required at a point of sale.
- Ensures that OE tickets are maintained daily.
- Uses equipment and resources safely and proficiently.
- Keeps updated merchandise material in an organized state.
- Keeps himself/herself groomed per MSP guidelines.
- Verifies receiving documents.
- Responsible for all kit functions.
- Responsible for accurately and efficiently assembling items into a pre-determined kit.
- Responsible for ordering parts for kits.
- Responsible for working with and establishing a rapport with parts vendors.
- Responsible for labeling kits and kit parts with appropriate information.
- Responsible for adhering to the correct kitting, and parts/paperwork tracking procedures.
- Ensures kitting is accurate and updated in the Sx.enterprise system to include the contents and status of each kit.
- Responsible for receiving parts and verifying accuracy.
- Responsible for ordering core and returning core.
- Responsible for handling warranties.
- Responsible for creating RGA for warranty items.
- Responsible for creating OE tickets for POs.
- Responsible for working with the warehouse team to ship kits.
- Assists as needed with customer ROs.
- Performs other tasks as required by General Manager or Upper Management.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Ability to speak and listen effectively.
- Customer Service experience.
- Basic computer skills.
