Heat Treat Class I Operator

Description

Peerless Chain is seeking mechanically inclined individuals for our Heat Treat Class I Operator. We value the skills and experience your bring to the table. Includes a Six Month Formal Training Program helps get you started. 

• Follow routing sheets, blue prints, work instructions and any other production forms required by management
• Processes product through various types of heat treating equipment accordingly to specifications as scheduled
• Instructs employees in lower classification (i.e. backup calibrate belt) on proper operating procedures related to all the heat treat and calibrate equipment
• Uses various test equipment including Rockwell Tester, etc. to insure results within the prescribed tolerances
• Uses hand tools in performance of mechanical maintenance. Performs work in lower job classifications within the department (i.e. calibrate and load belt)

Requirements

• Complete and pass a formal 6 month training program
• Abide by safety policies, operator preventative maintenance and housekeeping practices
• Use of material handling equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
• Ensure the quality specifications of the product 
• Accurately complete process and quality documentation  
• Problem solves a variety of issues
• Work with limited supervision
• Communicate respectfully with others
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs as needed
• Ability to stand up to 8-10 hours per shift

Starting pay rate is $21.64/hour

Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shift
