Description

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the ESTA Director, the Healthy Opportunities Program Inspector is responsible for working directly with Healthy Opportunities Program Enrollees; completing housing inspections according to HOP service guidelines from DHHS.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Inspect homes of HOP clients to ensure they meet minimum habitability standards per HUD guidance.

2. Accept and review HOP referrals and schedule inspections in accordance to the needs of all parties involved.

3. Communicate with HOP Network Users to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met for services.

4. Communicate with landlords the needs of the unit to meet HUD minimum habitability standards and preferred housing standards.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Attend Network Lead sponsored meetings and trainings and liaison with the Network Lead in regards to Pilot Program execution.

2. Provide assistance to individuals to join the Healthy Opportunities Pilot Program, completing enrollment steps with students from other ESTA Programs and the community.

3. Complete community outreach to promote the ESTA Program and the Healthy Opportunity Pilot Program.

4. Provide secondary support to the HOP Program Staff, being able to fill in as need for that program, including but not limited to picking up food from the food bank, assisting in delivering food, assisting with move-ins and move-outs, and making calls to schedule housing meetings.


Hourly Rate: $17.00 - $19.00

  

Reporting Relationship:

Position reports directly to the ESTA Director in regard to job-related performance and concerns. 

Requirements

Qualifications:

High School Diploma Preferred. Not listed on the Office of the Inspector General Payments Exclusion Listing. Understanding of home safety required. Construction or maintenance background preferred.

Skills/physical/working conditions

Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by Eliada's insurance carriers. Ability to move to look under, over, and behind difficult spaces. Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
