The Health Technician performs both clinical and administrative duties in support of the mission for the Department of Veteran Affairs, North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System, Diagnostic Imaging Service. The Diagnostic Imaging at NF/SGVHS includes the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine departments at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center and the Lake City VA Medical Center, Jacksonville, Tallahassee and the Villages Outpatient clinics.

Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized experience includes performing the following duties:
- Checks imaging equipment to ensure it is in working order.
- Checks the patient's electronic chart for potential interactions and abnormal lab results.
- Performs daily testing, documentation, replacement and maintenance of the Crash Cart equipment
- Checks the medical orders for complete information.
- Prepares patients for their upcoming radiology exam/procedure.
