JOB SUMMARY
The Screener will be the first person guests come in contact with upon entering Hamilton Medical Center, which will set the tone for the guest experience at Hamilton. Screeners will greet and direct all guests and vendors as they enter Hamilton Medical Center. They will be the informational person that directs people seeking testing, surgery, medical records, etc. Excellent interpersonal skills will be used to help make the hospital a positive place for patients, families and visitors.
Performs screening for all individuals entering the facility and provides proper instructions and personal protective equipment to ensure the highest infection control standards for safety of the patients and all healthcare providers within the facility.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school graduate or certified equivalent preferred
Licensure: None
Experience: Experience in health care facility preferred but not required. Experience in service industry preferred but not required.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to check a proper temperature, and enter information into a computer. Must demonstrate ability to follow instructions. and demonstrate a compassionate, caring and friendly attitude and support the values of our organization.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in typical acute health care setting with the families/associates of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. Must screen associates and visitors that could potentially be sick or have contagious/infectious disease processes. Required to work flexible schedule including weekends. Requires full range of body motion including standing, sitting, gathering supplies, as well as manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Associate must be able to check temperatures and record them using either manual written logs or enter data into computer program/spreadsheet. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
