The Manchester School of Technology is seeking a full-time Health Science Technology Teacher. This position offers the qualified individual the opportunity to teach a beginner-level medical technology program leading to an LNA licensure program.
QUALIFICATIONS
- New Hampshire Teacher Certification or Statement of Eligibility required in Health Science 0700.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience within the health care field.
- Current NH - LPN/RN License preferred.
PURPOSE
The goal of the Health Science Technology Teacher is to prepare students for future success in college and careers by:
- Providing students with academic and technical skills, knowledge, and training necessary to succeed in future careers.
- Developing student's understanding of the health care industry and the role of the industry in the community.
- Developing student's technical and safety skills required to enter a health-related college degree program or a health-related career.
Major Responsibilities, Duties and Instructional Strategies:
- Manage and maintain the Health Science facility, equipment, inventory and budget.
- Preparation of budget request for the Perkins Federal Grant so that it complies with all regulations.
- Co-advise our student chapter of HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America).
- Serve as Program Administrator of our LNA program with all associated duties as specified in Nur 704.04. (If certified)
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the high school principal or assistant principal.
Specified Length/Hours of Position: This is an affiliated (MEA) position under the Teacher Association negotiated contract, following the school calendar with additional workshop days.
