What You'll Do:
As the Health, Safety & Environment Director, you will spearhead strategies, policies, and programs to promote a culture of safety, mitigate risks, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and effectively manage on-the-job injuries and worker's compensation claims.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety strategies aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements for aviation fueling, ground service maintenance, and fuel storage facilities.
- Oversee and implement the corporate Safety Management System, Standard Safety Procedures, and stakeholder fueling procedures.
- Lead safety and environmental training programs, workshops, and initiatives for employees to enhance safety awareness and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across all operational areas to identify potential hazards and develop effective mitigation plans.
- Design and oversee a robust on-the-job injury management program, ensuring timely and appropriate response, medical treatment, and rehabilitation for injured employees.
- In collaboration with General Management and HR, manage worker's compensation claims, including timely reporting, documentation, and communication with insurance providers, legal counsel, and relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and enforce safety procedures, emergency response plans, and incident investigation protocols specifically tailored to managing on-the-job injuries.
- Oversee the management of safety data, reporting systems, and documentation to track and analyze safety metrics, incidents, and trends related to on-the-job injuries.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with aviation industry regulations, health, safety, and environmental standards, specifically regarding injury management and worker's compensation.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including stormwater, spill prevention, spill response, and reporting, as well as permitting requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing on-the-job injury trends, providing recommendations, and implementing proactive measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Act as a safety advocate and advisor, fostering a safety-first culture among all team members and stakeholders, specifically emphasizing injury prevention and appropriate response.

Requirements
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferred.
- Proven experience (5 years) in health and safety management within the aviation industry, with a focus on fueling, ground service maintenance, or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations (e.g., FAA, IATA), industry standards, and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations including SPCC plans, stormwater permitting and management, and waste regulations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change, influence stakeholders, and foster a safety-oriented culture.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and regulatory agencies.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety data analysis.
- Demonstrated track record in developing and implementing effective health and safety programs.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50-60%, as needed. Ability and willingness to collaborate digitally across multiple time zones when travel is impractical. Ability to secure and maintain airport badge, as needed.
