Primary function of position:
The Global Access, Value & Economics (GAVE) Team at *** is seeking a highly motivated, professional Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) research scientist to support the HEOR related scientific publications and data analysis in the Americas region. The contractor will provide analytical and consultative support to HEOR and participate in scientific evidence creation activities. Specifically, the contractor will analyze large healthcare databases and present the findings through congress abstracts and/or manuscripts. The contractor will also be responsible for presenting and interpreting the results/findings, gathering insights from the data, and communicating the value messages to internal corporate colleagues in cross functional teams and different business units.
Job Description:
• Participate in the development of HEOR research strategies that support the value proposition for products in key clinical areas for Americas region
• Implement HEOR studies from inception to completion, including preparing study protocols, statistical analysis plan (SAP), study reports, abstracts and manuscripts
• Perform statistical analysis using real-world large healthcare databases (e.g., insurance claims, electronic medical records, hospital discharge database, and registry)
• Conduct literature search, review and synthesis; review and critique medical and evidence-based outcomes literature & statistical analyses
• Deliver and present the results/findings through congress abstracts and/or manuscripts where possible
• Carry out time-sensitive statistical data analysis to find patterns, trends, insights and inconsistencies in large database to support evidence based decision making
• Interacts with and presents findings to multiple departments within **** including global market access, HTA, clinical affairs, market research, clinical and product marketing, and publication teams.
• Builds relationships with Key Opinion Leaders across stakeholder landscape: Physicians, Providers, Payers, Policy makers & Professional Societies to deliver and reinforce the value message of robotic-assisted surgery in key clinical areas.
• Track the HEOR project plan, the timelines, and the deliverables across HEOR studies to assure the deliverables are aligned with the strategic goals in a timely manner
Skill/Job Requirements:
Education and Training Requirements:
• Master's degree in Health outcomes/services research, Epidemiology, Biostatistics or related field
• 2+ more years of experience analyzing real-world large healthcare database (e.g., insurance claims, electronic medical records, hospital discharge database, and registry) and knowledge of propensity score matching and inverse probability treatment weighting is desirable.
• Proficient in statistical programming using R, SQL, Python, SAS and other analytical tools.
• Keen business acumen in understanding the needs from customers and outstanding ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctorate degrees in Health outcomes/services research, Epidemiology, Biostatistics or related field.
• 4+ more years of experience in conducting RWE studies using large healthcare database and/or health economic modeling.
• Record of publications in health economics, health services research, epidemiology or clinical journals.
• Experience of supporting global data, evidence, marketing, and market access needs.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment within a global matrix organization; working with various multi-disciplinary teams.
