Form of workWe are hiring a Health Care Coordinator - Medical Assistant for our Youth Services program at Camp Aspen in Columbia, South Carolina. In this direct care role, you'll join a team helping at-risk adolescents BUILD BETTER FUTURES.
Camp Aspen is a community-based residential program that provides services to juvenile offenders that have been identified as needing substance abuse education and services. Camp Aspen has a capacity for 30 boys ages 12-19 that are referred from the South Carolina Department of Justice.
Salary: $15.00 per hour

As a Health Care Coordinator, you will perform clerical duties within the medical department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
Conducts sick call, monitors medical concerns and conferences with management to
determine course of action for each complaint.
Conferences with all staff members regarding the students health concerns.
Acts as a liaison with collateral agencies.
Schedules medical and dental appointments.
Arranges for procurement of medications with medication refills.
Completes documentation needed for each medication.
Provides on-going, updated information for each clients Medication Log.
Reviews medication records weekly to ensure accuracy.
Transports students to medical and dental appointments as needed.
Prepares a daily Medication Update for change of shift.
Completes a medical assessment for each student upon admission.

Hiring Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and minimum one year office related experience.
Working knowledge of medical insurance processes and billing preferred.
Working Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Ability to work overtime as required.
Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks; including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
