Health & Wellness Coordinator
Community Action Region VI is seeking a Health & Wellness Coordinator in our 0-5 Head Start program. The Health & Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive health services for families of prenatal women and children 0-5 years of age. This position will serve centers in Jamestown and Valley City.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in accessing resources related to Health and disability services for pregnant women, children birth to five and their families. Act as an advocate for families when necessary.
- Coordinate continuous program improvement for health, dental, mental health, nutrition, safety, and disability services through annual review of all health-related policies, procedures, work plans, and curriculum.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Health Services Advisory Committee.
- Supervise children’s nutrition, ensuring requirements of CACFP are met at all sites on an ongoing basis. Prepare menus with a registered dietician and provide nutrition information to families.
- Assist in training of all staff regarding Health and nutrition performance standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Evaluate and monitor all health assessments and screenings to ensure appropriate follow up.
- Ensure that all Health and safety guidelines are followed, including administering medication and responding to emergencies.
- Work with parents and health care providers to develop Individual Health Plans for children with special health needs or disabilities.
- Work collaboratively with all staff to maintain compliance with all program regulations.
- Provide education and services to pregnant women.
- Adhere to Community Action Code of Ethics and Confidentiality policy.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors or advanced degree in Nursing or a health related field.
- Valid Driver License.
- Dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
This position is 32-40 hours per week with full benefits.
