Job description

We are looking for a part-time Health and Physical Education TEACHER to join our amazing education team at Abraxas South Mountain Program in Pennsylvania.

Abraxas South Mountain is located in Franklin County on Pennsylvania Route 233 between Gettysburg and Chambersburg and is surrounded by the rolling hills and beautiful woodlands of south-central Pennsylvania's Michaux State Forest.

As an ARTS TEACHER, you will be helping at-risk students BUILD BETTER FUTURES.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Job Type: Part-time, temporary

Schedule: Work a couple days a week for one or two semesters during the school year.

Qualifying employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSFL) program!

Your Education and Certification:

  • Bachelors degree in related field in subject matter that is utilized for teaching experience AND State certification (public (level I or II) or private) in Special Education, OR

  • Bachelors degree in related field with interest and ability to obtain emergency/permanent teaching certification per PDE requirements.

Other Qualifications:

  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Driver's License
  • Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing.
  • Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI and State Child Abuse Clearances)
  • Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
