Head Start Instructor:

Shamokin, PA

Full-time rewarding position working with children (ages 3-5) in our Shamokin Children’s Center Head Start program located in Shamokin, PA. The instructor’s main responsibility is for overall functioning of the Head Start class and for assuring that the services of the program are available to each child or family.

Hourly rate = $15.50 – 22.50 hour dependent on education and qualifications. This is a non-exempt position working a 196 days per year, 7.5 hours per day school-year schedule. Requires one of the following:

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or Associate degree in a related field with at least six (6) courses in early childhood education or child development and experience teaching preschool children.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least six (6) courses in early childhood education or child development and experience teaching preschool children is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility to accommodate a changing caseload, and a professional attitude are required.
• Must have an interest in and concern for children and their families and some experience dealing with children and/or families.
