How would you like a job where your office is the deck of a boat, where you see dolphins and ospreys during your morning “commute”? How would you like to grow nutritious food that is great for people and great for the environment? How would you like a career where you go home each day knowing you and your team’s hard work literally made the bays and waterways a better place?
Come join our team of Oyster Wranglers at Lone Star Oyster Company! We operate a mariculture facility in West Bay where we grow ultra-premium oysters in floating cages.
We are looking for a Head Oyster Wrangler/Boat Captain that will manage the team’s day-to-day work on the water.
Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience in this industry! Oyster mariculture is brand new to Texas. We will teach you the skills you need to care for the oysters. You just need a willingness to listen, learn, and work at it.
The work takes place aboard our modern, 24-foot work boat and onshore near Angleton, Texas.
We work four days a week, typically Monday through Thursday, for about 10 hours a day. (Occasionally, the schedule shifts because of weather or other factors). This is a full-time job that is eligible for overtime.
We are a growing company in a growing industry. There are opportunities for increased roles for you as you learn the industry. If you are interested in working with your hands, working on the water, and feeding people you should apply today!
