Head of Public Structured Products Portfolio Management

Job Description:

We're actively seeking a talented leader to join our Pacific Life Investments (PLI) Public Bonds team. This role can be remote or hybrid out of our corporate office in Newport Beach, CA.
As the Head of the Structured Products Portfolio Management and Trading group, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success directing Portfolio Management, trading, and broker/dealer relationships efforts related to Pacific Life's $15bn portfolio of Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), Residential Mortgage-Backed Security (RMBS), and Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO). This new role reports to the SVP & Deputy CIO of Public Fixed Income Investments
How you will make an impact:

• Lead the group's efforts related to Portfolio Management, trading, and broker/dealer relationship activities.
• Collaborate with the portfolio managers and credit underwriting/surveillance team to identify executable and suitable market opportunities.
• Lead the efforts to integrate new investment opportunities and structured credit asset classes into PLI.
• Collaborate with the structured credit underwriting and surveillance team to expand the development of underwriting, surveillance, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with other PLI departments regarding relative value, sector analysis, asset class dynamics, and portfolio.
• Direct ad-hoc projects, reporting, and analysis as requested.

The experience you will bring:

• 15+ years of investment experience with fixed-income and financial concepts
• Economics and capital markets expertise
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
• High energy, positive attitude, collaborative and team-oriented
• Composed and decisive under pressure or when challenged
• Driven, self-motivated, and intellectually inquisitive
• Demonstrated leadership in the investment decision-making process

What will make you stand out:

• Demonstrated and proven experience executing a strategy for multiple asset classes within structured credit
• Bachelor's Degree; Advanced degree and CFA desirable

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted provides a basis to determine the appropriate offer dependent upon several factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience, skills, education and pay equity. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$253,170.00 - $309,430.00
