About the role:
As the VP, Head of New Product Planning & Business Development for Global Oncology, your work will contribute to our bold, inspiring vision: We aspire to cure cancer. As part of the Global Oncology Product, Pipeline and Strategy (GOPPS) team you will report to the Head ofGlobal Oncology Product, Pipeline and Strategy (GOPPS) and partner with R&D and ODDU Research. This role is expected to manage key strategic and operational pipeline decisions within the Oncology GOPPS organization and is a member of the most senior governance boards in the One Oncology organization, including the Takeda Oncology Management Meeting (TOMM) for BD topics, the Oncology Development Strategy Team (ODeST) and the Cell Therapy Council (CTC).
How you will contribute:
Works closely with senior Oncology Leadership across the organization to define a near-term and long-term ONE Oncology pipeline strategy and Business vision focused on key assets and technology platforms.
- Provides proactive oversight and leadership of the Oncology GOPPS New Product Planning group and drives pipeline progression in close collaboration with OTAU & ODDU.
- Provides portfolio insights in support of corporate planning cycles, e.g. IR earnings calls, LRF, MRP, etc.
- Contributes strategic input and operational expertise to OBU management reviews, including quantitative scenario development, trade-off implications and the evaluation and assessment of investment opportunities.
Works closely with the Head of Oncology GOPPS and the Oncology leadership team to drive the execution, communication and continuous refinement of a ONE Oncology pipeline strategy and individual pipeline asset strategies.
- Oversees and drives cross-functional annual asset planning approach for development assets and establishes comprehensive asset plans for all clinical development assets.
- Accountable for the establishment of cross-functional GPT Business sub teams facilitated by NPP Leads for all investigational assets in clinical development; ensures close collaboration between OBU functions (NPP, PVPA, GMA) and drives regional engagement for all post-POC assets.
- Oversees and facilitates OBU pipeline budget and planning process for OBU GOPPS.
- Represent OBU GOPPS and actively participate in ODeST, CTC and other ONE Oncology governance bodies, as appropriate and assigned.
- Drives the creation, maintenance, and implementation of integrated Disease Area Strategies (iDAS) by providing oversight and co-leadership of cross-functional OneOncology iDAS teams and the iDAS Steering Team.
- Provides oversight and strategic leadership for the OBU mid- to late-stage Business Development Search & Evaluation process (Project Sirius).
- Provides strategic guidance and execution oversight for comprehensive BD screening and evaluation exercises aligned with major conferences and facilitates close collaboration of OTAU, OBU, CEI, GMS and GBD (Project Sirius).
- Leads cross-functional Project Sirius Core Team meetings and Project Sirius TOMM meetings.
- Leads key growth and acceleration projects with the objective of helping translate thoughts into actions and actions into results, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Advanced scientific degree (PhD, MD, or PharmD)
- Minimum of 15 years of related experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with in-depth knowledge of research and development and/or product strategy and marketing.
- Minimum 10 years pf drug development experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology with interdisciplinary global experience with complex projects including program development, strategy and execution and matrix team management.
- Displays a firm grasp of modern decision analytics approach

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willingness to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips. Some international travel may be required.
- Requires up to 15% travel.
