About Haven:

Haven Energy is a well-funded, seed-stage startup focused on accelerating the adoption of Home Energy Storage through a two-sided marketplace model. We believe that widespread, distributed storage will be a key part of our energy future, helping stabilize the electric grid in the face of increasing climate change-induced weather events, an aging transmission and distribution infrastructure and increased electric loads due to home electrification. For homeowners, on-site storage will help prevent blackouts, reduce residential electricity costs, reduce household CO2 emissions and provide a level of energy independence and security.

With our two-sided marketplace model, Haven guides homeowners through the selection, quoting, financing and scheduling of a home battery system install, and we pair homeowners with vetted, qualified electricians to perform the installation. We then work with homeowners to enroll their home battery systems into grid services programs, creating ways to monetize the asset for homeowners while improving grid resilience. We offer a phenomenal experience for both the homeowners and the installers, as both are key to our long term success.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the Head of Marketplace Growth for our Home Energy Storage Systems Marketplace. This pivotal role involves spearheading our marketplace sales strategy, focusing on identifying, engaging, onboarding, and managing at scale our relationships with solar sales organizations keen on incorporating and selling batteries within our marketplace platform. As a pioneer in the renewable energy sector, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of home battery sales within a dynamic marketplace environment.

Responsibilities:Growth Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to attract and onboard solar sales organizations interested in integrating battery solutions within our marketplace.
  • Identify key market segments and opportunities to drive sales growth and market penetration.
  • Drive revenue growth by effectively managing the sales pipeline, negotiating agreements, and closing partnerships.

Scaling Operations:

  • Implement scalable processes for onboarding and managing a large volume of solar sales partners efficiently.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to track and analyze sales performance, continually optimizing strategies for maximum impact.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to identify trends and areas for improvement in the sales lifecycle.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to drive individual and team success.

Process Development and Automation:

  • Design and implement streamlined processes for onboarding solar sales organizations onto the platform and managing relationships at scale.
  • Utilize automation and technology to enhance efficiency in partner management, sales tracking, and reporting.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks within the sales lifecycle through data-driven process improvements.

Data Analysis and Insights:

  • Establish robust analytics frameworks to track and analyze sales performance, marketplace trends, and user behavior related to solar battery sales.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities, optimize pricing strategies, and drive decision-making at both strategic and tactical levels.

Marketplace rules development:

  • Develop marketplace rules that ensure healthy participation by market participants
  • Codify KPIs to monitor marketplace rules and processes to identify good and bad actors

Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with solar sales organizations, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions within our marketplace.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring exceptional service and support to drive ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and operations teams to align strategies and deliver a seamless marketplace experience.

Qualifications:Required:

  • Proven experience in a senior operational or tech-focused role within a marketplace or tech company, preferably in renewable energy, Energy Storage, or a related industry.
  • Strong background in platform integration, process optimization, and automation using relevant technological tools and systems.
  • Deep understanding of Marketplace dynamics, user experience, and scalable operational strategies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and leveraging insights to drive operational decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Prior experience in scaling operations within a high-growth or startup environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM, ERP, data analytics, funnel conversion management and no-code / low code tools used in the tech and marketplace companies.
