Reynolds Defense Firm, the largest privately retained DUI firm in the Pacific NW, is hiring an experienced leader to serve as our Head of Legal. We've been representing good people with DUIs for 20 years and we're excited to continue our growth trajectory.

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team and play a crucial role in helping us through our next stages of growth. The Head of Legal leads the legal team and reports to our CEO. This role is based at our headquarters in SW Portland.
Our new Head of Legal will have:
Responsibilities
• Leads and oversees the activities and work of attorneys and support staff, including complex legal matters and difficult client situations
• Provides mentoring and advice to attorneys on legal and procedural questions
• Monitors productivity and quality of service, and makes suggestions for improvement
• Manages and distributes cases, monitors case progress and timelines, and tracks metrics
• Establishes priorities that correspond to the strategic objectives of the business
• Identifies and implements efficient systems and methods for streamlining processes
• Collaborates with other department heads to contribute to the firm's strategy and decision-making
• Develops and implements techniques and methods to streamline existing procedures, increase operational efficiency, and scale within the legal department
• Plans and executes regular meetings, mentoring sessions, and training to promote staff development, boost team building, and create effective workplace relationships
Qualifications
• Possession of a J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
• Having an active license and good standing to practice law in Oregon
• Having a minimum of 3 years of experience as a people manager or senior/managing attorney
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for RDF's mission, vision, and values
• Proven capacity to manage objectives through people
• Excellent demonstrated leadership skills in building strong and competent teams
• Outstanding communication abilities
• Remarkable organization skills and a keen eye for details
• Excellent problem-solving expertise
• Proficient with technology, and able to quickly grasp new systems and software
• Background in private caseload, criminal defense, or DUI law a plus but not required
