Job Summary

The Head of Impact reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for providing strategic leadership, management, and guidance on Sorenson’s Impact vision as well as Impact and ESG strategies, policies, risks, and practices. The Head of Impact will execute on Sorenson’s strategic objectives tied to the launch of Impact initiatives while maintaining and refining the company’s approach for maximum impact and connecting efforts with business objectives and performance across the organization towards sustained impact. The Head of Impact will be a subject matter expert in executing impact as well as the review and iteration of and alignment on impact efforts and processes.

The Head of Impact will serve as an integral part of the Sorenson Executive Leadership team and work collaboratively with other members of the executive team as well as employee leaders to execute impact priorities across the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Head of Impact will work with company leadership to manage the impact vision and roadmap and lead the execution of Impact goals, supporting the development of internal processes, reporting, and data collection in collaboration with business functions and visual presentation of Impact and ESG in the organization.
  • Lead a portfolio of Impact and ESG efforts pertaining to Sorenson’s impact roadmap and own the successful delivery of projects in collaboration with internal and external team members.
  • Lead tracking and measurement of Impact and ESG, including identification of metrics and oversight of data collection and analysis.
  • Regularly report to the CEO, Board and company on outcomes and metrics; oversee the building of dashboards and related reports across efforts and adapt systems and processes based on learnings thereafter.
  • Lead and encourage collaboration on impact processes across the organization on a clear, regular schedule, as well as communicate to Sorenson and CaptionCall staff and stakeholders in an organized and dependable manner.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages employees and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees.

Travel Requirements

Travel Requirements: Less than 25%

Education

Minimum: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree

Preferred: Graduate Degree: Public policy, law, public health or social sciences preferred but not required. Equivalent experience considered.

Experience

7 years of relevant experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Progressive senior-leadership experience on social impact efforts with a proven track record of successfully leading and managing to performance and outcomes
  • Experience working with systematically excluded communities
  • Self-motivated and thrives in a lean, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in a deadline-driven and high-achieving environment
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of success in solving complex and dynamic situations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, showing initiative, creativity, self-discipline, and effective time and project management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences
  • Ability to distill complex information into a simple and compelling message for maximum clarity, understanding, and impact
  • High level of focus on quality and attention to detail
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of ESG-related frameworks and subject matters is preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Able to sit/stand for a long period of time in an office environment
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
