SAP is looking for a Head of Global Social Mediato lead our Global Social Media Marketing Team. In this role, you will lead the teams responsible for social channel(s) marketing for SAP's global brand, solution, and services. You will own and lead the definition, development and deployment of the SAP Global Social Media strategy, governance and operating model that will enable SAP to evolve its Social Media practice to a data-driven audience-centric part of digital marketing campaigns and communications. You and your team own and lead developing and defining the channels and content strategies, creative/asset test designs, campaigns, and measurement mechanisms for each of the SAP Social Media channels. You will partner with the business and marketing leaders to deliver go-to market plans and for producing a thoughtful Social Media community outreach program.
You will have extensive experience in the spaces of digital and social and are comfortable pushing the bounds of thinking in these areas. You will be an ambassador of the SAP brand guidelines and governance, with a knowledge of how to leverage social channels and ad formats within them to deliver results. You will understand the customer journey and experience inside social and have a detailed understanding of data, including measurement strategy, how to test, and how to improve and iterate social content. You will set foundations and shape our narrative and position with community marketing efforts, with a relentless focus on audience engagement, outreach and community building.
This individual is highly proficient in partnering across marketing and business teams and has proven experience delivering high quality results. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required as this role will interface directly with cross-functional teams.

 

What you will do:

  • Leading Social Media strategy with emphasis on a holistic, scalable and innovative approach which supports the evolution of the Corporate Marketing operating model and vision
  • Determining long term vision of the Social Media department as well as continually innovating and staying aHead of the changing digital marketing/ Social Media landscape
  • Providing growth mapping & goal setting, personal development, cultivating individuality, and performing annual formal performance reviews for team members
  • Driving and overseeing work for team, including strategy, development, tactical expertise, and measurement of Social Media programs
  • Spearheading the ideation and development of tech-enabled Social Media publishing at a global scale incl. automation + AI translation
  • Work with cross-functional leadership to determine the correct roles, responsibilities, and expertise needed to scale and grow the Social Media practice
  • Own and manage relationship with our Social Media agency of record, ensuring optimal ROI and thumb-stopping creative
  • Managing the recruitment, retention, and professional development of the Social Media team
  • Accountable for the quality of all Social Media plans/strategies/services delivered to clients as well as internal client satisfaction
  • Acting as a central resource for information related to Social Media - facilitate collaboration, knowledge sharing, and encourage the groundswell for Social Media across teams and programs
  • A key liaison with other department heads, executive leadership, and account teams, to ensure investment and strategy alignment
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure Social Media team are providing innovative solutions and strategies to end clients and sharing learnings with the corporate marketing team
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to provide thought leadership pertaining to emerging trends in Social Media and collaborate on supporting and reaching holistic goals
  • Reporting to the Vice President of Acquisition Channels (direct manager) and other upper executives on key KPIs and team development/ performance on a quarterly basis

What your team will do:

  • Partner with SAP marketing and executive leadership, representing the social team in strategies and measurement discussions.
  • Lead the build of winning Social Media and content strategies for SAP Social Media channels as part of programmatic strategies.
  • Partner with Integrated Marketing teams and Marketing Analytics to develop full funnel paid campaigns and corresponding, connected reporting.
  • Prepare detailed campaign plans and creative briefs and ensure alignment across all channels and adherence to team goals.
  • Work cross-functionally to complete campaign analysis and identify applicable insights to improve the effectiveness.
  • Stay up to date with trends and technologies in the Social Media and programmatic spaces and suggest new ways to implement these into our processes.
  • Deliver informed and insightful strategic POV of audience insights that achieves goals and answers consumer's needs, including planning and prioritization, from intake of briefs to detailed measurement reports.
  • Own and optimize the operation model for Global Social Media creation, publication and measurement

What you will bring:

  • 7+ years leadership experience leading a team which owns global responsibility for Social Media (agency partnership model preferred)
  • 10+ years combined working in a Social Media and/or programmatic digital marketing role
  • Experience in strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development.
  • Proven ability developing social creative is a requirement (LinkedIn, Reddit, TikTok, Meta, YouTube, X, Snapchat, etc.)
  • Experience taking our goals and translating them into creative projects.
  • Experience with community building and moderation.
  • Embrace transformation, think on your feet, and adapt your strategy and plan to meet the needs of changing Social Media landscape
  • Demonstrated expertise in navigating through large, complex global organizations
  • Needs to be a creative thinker and problem solver, thrive in fast paced environment, prioritize, and oversee multiple global transformative initiatives with attention to detail

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 222,500 - 515,300 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
