Job description

The Head of Global Benefits and Mobility will be responsible for Vanguard’s Global Benefits, mobility and wellbeing programs. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the successful candidate in this role will champion innovative, strategic initiatives that enhance employee health, promote work-life balance, and ensure competitive, cost-effective benefits programs for the enterprise.

In this role you will

  • Coach, guide, and develop a high-performing Global Benefits team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Lead the end-to-end management of health and retirement benefits plans, global mobility programs, benefits administration, and lifestyle and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and key stakeholders to continuously assess and improve benefits offerings based on crew needs, market trends, and financial considerations.
  • Drive change management processes to smoothly introduce new benefits, refine existing programs, and further promote a culture of wellbeing within the organization.
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform decision-making, demonstrating a results-driven approach to managing program effectiveness and return on investment. Identify and drive improvements to enhance value and sustainability.
  • Oversee the relationship with benefits suppliers, brokers, and consultants to ensure high-quality service delivery and cost management.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations across all jurisdictions; stay abreast of legislative changes that may impact Benefits and wellbeing strategies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to HR professionals and business leaders across the company on benefits-related matters.
  • Utilize outstanding communication skills to articulate a clear vision for the future of employee benefits, persuading and influencing stakeholders at all levels to secure buy-in.

What it takes

  • Ten years of progressive, related work experience, with at least five years of benefits strategy, design and administration, total rewards, or compensation experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred. Relevant certification (e.g., CEBS, SPHR) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing and implementing comprehensive Benefits and wellbeing programs with measurable success.
  • Deep understanding of Global Benefits trends and regulations, as well as the particular challenges of diverse and international workforces.
  • Expertise in strategic consulting, with a proven track record in operational execution and managing large-scale projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach to managing data-driven benefits programs.
  • Excellent communication, persuasion, and influence skills, coupled with the capability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued and leveraged for corporate success.

  • Developing talent: Proactively engaging external talent, building, and nurturing internal talent; empowering individuals and managing diverse teams to drive engagement and performance.
