Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Head of Digital Content Marketing to lead our Digital Content initiatives, focusing heavily on video and other digital mediums. The ideal candidate will be at the forefront of producing engaging How-To guides, captivating videos, and authoritative content pieces that resonate with our audience across our website, social media platforms, and YouTube.

As the steward of our brand's digital presence, your work will be pivotal in simplifying safety and making it accessible to all, aligning with our mission to "Make Safety, Easy." You will craft strategies that not only serve our community with valuable information for free but also position our brand as the go-to authority in our field.

You will be in charge of both the strategy/vision, the coordination of different team members/departments, as well as the execution of the work (although you may hire down for help).

This is a pathfinding position (not an optimizing position). This role does not currently exist (please refer to this link to find out what a Pathfinder is: https://blog.karensergeant.com/4-types-of-team-members-and-where-they-fit-in-org-chart/). There is no predecessor. There are no strategies in place. You can and should assume there is no content strategy or anyone that's even doing any content work. You may or will be required to build it from the ground up. Expect the job to be messy and possibly constantly changing. Expect for high growth at least in the initial few years as we grow up in size (both head count + revenue). You are in charge of finding, hiring great talent, managing and growting the people in content department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Calibrate on our educational content strategy that embodies our mission on making safety, easy. - 20%

  • Work EACH Channel's Brand/Sales Manager to Measure and analyze content performance, making data-driven decisions to continually refine and improve our content offerings.
  • Work with VP of Demand Marketing on media buy for content

2. Create the content strategy & content - 60%

  • Lead and build a team of talented content creators, leveraging their skills to produce top-tier Digital Content.
  • Collaborate with the creative and media buy team to ensure content is distributed effectively and reaches the intended audience with maximum impact.
  • Work with creative team & on-ground installers/camera crew to execute on video or media content creation

3. Deploy contents & work with media buy team (for prime placement) - 20%

  • Placement on our sales channel (via Brand/Sales Manager)
  • Placement on youtube
  • Placement on social media
  • Email campaign (can be as simlpe as educational content)

Requirements:

Role Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in Social Media Management (show proof)
  • Proven experience in video content production (show proof)
  • Proven experience in Digital Content Marketing and Content Creation (show proof)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Served as VP or Director of Content Marketing in an ad or marketing agency

Education:

  • Bachelor's or equivalent

Experience:

  • 11-15 years of relevant experience

Management:

  • 3-5 years experience, 3 years of which as a First Line Manager

Scope of Control:

  • Has control over a department's work

  • There is some ambiguity or uncertainty involved in completing the tasks.
  • The tasks require more specialized skills and knowledge.
  • The tasks can be completed in a reasonable amount of time.

Hardware Required:

  • This level of hardware is sufficient for more demanding tasks such as browsing multiple browser tabs, video editing, and graphic design.
  • The hardware requirements for this level are higher than the basic level, and a mid-range computer or laptop will be required.

Interview Process
  1. The interview process is all initially at your pace. We only do in-person interviews in the final step. We will initially ask yes/no & numeric questions to verify your relevant experience.
  2. We will ask you to list our your key responsibilities from our previous companies
  3. We will then ask you to demonstrate from past responsibilities to support your list of key responsibilities and success metrics.
  4. Then we will select a few applicants to do a paid trial task (we will provide actual problems/issue we face that you will try to resolve).
  5. Lastly, we will do a final in-person interview (at this point, you would most likely have passed most of the job competency and experience assessment and this is a job/culture fit + opportunity for you to ask/understand us better).
