The Stranahan’s Aspen Whiskey Lodge is the soon-to-be second brand home of the leading American Single Malt Whiskey, Stranahan’s. The Aspen Whiskey Lodge will immerse guests in alpine-inspired bites and top line whiskey cocktails and drams.
The Bar Lead is responsible for outstanding hospitality and customer service for all bar operations. Primary duties include menu creation, proper bar operations, upholding a high standard of service, opening and closing duties such as cash handling, tips reporting, and nightly reconciliation. The Bar Lead will also be the team leader for all bar staff, including input in hiring and training of new staff, setting a positive attitude and environment, and ensuring clear communication with Supervisors.
Responsibilities:
-Assume 100% responsibility for guests’ experience and maintain excellent service standards for all guests
-Menu planning for seasonal menus as well as public and private events, cocktail classes, and brand cocktail needs
-Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor bar staff
-Work with General Manager to help schedule staff shifts, and enforce employee policies
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and providing guidance and support to the staff
-Coordination of prep for day-to-day service and operations including special events
-Responsible for bar inventory management including ensuring sufficient supplies in stock and ordering needs are communicated clearly and in a timely manner to the General Manager
-Maintain an orderly and clean appearance in the bar and storage areas at all times, including meeting standards of Aspen Health Code
-Opening and closing duties including accurate inventory of whiskey and barware for day-to-day service and events
-Oversee and operate the Cocktail Class program, including supply procurement, cocktail/recipe/instruction, and creation
-Taking lead on all bar operations for public & private events with necessary details from Supervising team
-Participating in photo and video shoots as required by the Brand team
-Be a media trained ambassador for the Stranahan’s brand and American Single Malt Whiskey, including occasional off-site events and media presence on Instagram and other platforms
-Other responsibilities as dictated by the Management team
Skills:
-Proven success and leadership experience in high end, cocktail driven operations
-A strong passion for food and beverage with an emphasis on hospitality driven service
-Excellent communication skills, a commitment to hospitality, and creativity behind the bar
-Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound decisions quickly
-Knowledge of local health and safety regulations
-Up to date with beverage and cocktail trends and best practices
-Strong organizational skills
