Job Summary
The position is responsible for coaching junior high student-athletes, organizing practices, teaching skill development, game strategies, and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition.
Job Speciications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities, who are otherwise qualiied, to perform essential functions.
Minimum Qualiications
? Must complete Pennsylvania Coaching Education Requirements.
? Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
? Must possess a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
? Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, head coach, parents, and students.
Essential Duties
1. Teach fundamental sports skills and game strategies.
2. Instruct players on the rules, regulations, and techniques of the sport.
3. Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities.
4. Act as an appropriate role model.
5. Emphasize good sportsmanship and appropriate sports participant behaviors. 6. Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury.
7. Adheres to the Code of Ethics for high school coaches (attached).
8. Models appropriate behavior towards players, oficials, and spectators.
9. Provide a supportive environment during practices and games.
10. Keep track of athletic equipment and uniforms issued to your team.
11. Follow district transportation policies.
12. Prepare facilities for all home games.
13. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the head coach and Activities Director.
This job descripon in no way states or implies that these are the only dues to be performed by this employee. The head Jr. High coach will be required to follow any other instrucons and perform any related dues as assigned by the Head Coach and Athlecs Director.
