Pay Band: Job Summary:
Duties include recruiting, scheduling, coordination of team travel, camp and clinic development, and interaction with student athletes and staff management and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Budget management is expected.
Scope:
The Head Coachof Men's and Women's Bowling will be responsible for the operations of both teams.
Principal Responsibilities
The Head Coachof Men's and Women's Bowling responsibilities will include game administration within the department and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
- Work daily with the following areas in the athletic department - compliance, game operations, strength and conditioning, athletic training, academic counseling, and athletic communications
- Regularly interact with several on-campus groups including admissions, business offices, academic counseling, and student affairs.
- Be active in community service projects. This could include working in tandem with the local bowling alley to support youth programs, bowling leagues, and the overall promotion of bowling in the Ada area.
- Monitoring the bowling budget.
- Planning for travel and purchasing equipment
- Ability to recruit potential student-athletes.
- Monitoring the academic progress of all student-athletes on the team and working with various constituencies across campus to ensure that student-athletes receive proper academic counseling and assistance.
- Practice and game preparation
- Implementation of lineups, strategies, etc., and will be the lead coach at all competitions.
- Direct and evaluate any assistant coaches
- Other duties as assigned - These could include fundraising, game management, and representing the athletic department at various functions
Required Skills:
- Strong organizational skills
- Budget management
- Supervisory skills
- Strong background in bowling
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience coaching Bowling
- Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coaching intercollegiate bowling
- Ability to manage 2 programs along with an assistant coach
