Job Summary


This position provides lead work, training, and backup for all operations in the Cashier's Office. This position provides training and support to all departments regarding setup of web payment accounts through Authorize.Net/bank connections and processes their web deposits when needed to ensure secure and accurate reporting into ISRS. In partnership with the IT office and in coordination with the A/R Director, this position initiates and completes the annual PCI compliance and Cash Handling Audits throughout the University. Other responsibilities of this position are submitting policy and procedure requests to the A/R Director that could streamline efficiencies when needed, payment plan coordinator, daily cash reporting, bank reconciliation of cash handling transactions, quarterly change fund audits and other duties as assigned. Set up credit card machines and event websites for departments as needed as well as help maintain those functions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information, records and reports; locate errors; and recommend solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems.
  • Knowledge of the Minnesota Accounting and Procurement System (MAPS), or other private or governmental accounting system, sufficient to query and compile records and reports, and assist with preparation and maintenance of spending plans, financial status reports and budget requests.
  • Working knowledge of electronic spreadsheets, word processing software, computers and other office equipment such as calculators.
  • Mathematics skills sufficient to calculate, review and reconcile data and balance accounts.
  • Ability to design, interpret and explain work procedures and operations and provide advice on fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and write a variety of materials in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
  • Working experience with the use of a Computer PC Cash Register and adding machine.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our customers including public, students, families, and employees to explain policies and procedures and deal with complaints from clients
  • Working knowledge of MinnState (ISRS) accounting system, Web Database, Image Now, Power Point and web account setup preferred.

.Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating in and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
