SUMMARY
The Haul Truck Operator is responsible for hauling overburden from the open pit to the Plant, hauling from the production areas to the crushers and/or finished products from the plant to stockpiles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Safely and efficiently operates heavy equipment such as bob cat, skid steer and man lift in a variety of conditions; reports any problems to supervisor in a timely fashion
- Performs various production duties
- Performs other duties as assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary under the discretion of management.
- Works with co-workers, maintaining constant eye contact when backing and communicate using hand signals or other movements
- Follows all Company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment
- Follows direction of foreperson with regard to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite

- Conducts daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with Company polices/procedures
- Demonstrates a professional and courteous attitude to coworkers, supervisors and others at all times
- Serves as an excellent safety champion actively promoting Vista’s safety process at all times (a Company ambassador)
- All other duties as assigned
JOB SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 5 + years’ experience in the mining and crushing industry is preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Must speak, read and write English as needed to competently and safely perform all job duties
- Outdoor work will be conducted in varied weather conditions with the possibility for low light, dust, noise, extreme heat and cold
- Sitting for long periods of time and exposure to various types of equipment and/or traffic
- Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required and provided
- Overtime, weekend work and shift work (day and night) may be frequently required
