Responsibilities:
-Safely loading and unloading all loads
-Making sure the load is secure and meets DOT requirements at all times
-Ensuring the load is delivered to the correct location on time and safely, according to the freight bill
-Inspecting the load before and after each stop and delivery
-Accurately maintain logs and trip sheets
-Keeping company Haul Truck clean
-Maintaining all eligibility requirements to drive company truck/trailer combination
Required Skills:
-Must be able to follow trip directions, read a map and meet pickup/delivery time requirements
-Must be able to manage break times, fuel stops, weather, traffic and construction, along with city and rural driving conditions and manage unforeseen circumstances
-Must be willing to learn and strictly follow company safety policy and DOT rules and regulations
-Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation
-Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
-Must be able to pass DOT physical
-Must have 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses
-Must be able to see clearly up-close and far away, with peripheral vision and have the ability to maintain depth perception and adjust focus as needed
-Must be able to safely operate a truck/trailer without use of a cell phone for talking, texting, browsing the web, etc.
-Must be a dependable person, since you will be an important part of our team
-Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Education and Experience:
-Must have a current DOT medical card and maintain eligibility at all times
-Must have a current hard CDL Class A card with hazardous material and tank endorsements and maintain eligibility at all times
-Two years plus experience of having safely operated a tractor/trailer combination in all types of weather and/or traffic conditions required
-Two years plus experience in DOT compliance required
-High school diploma or GED required
-Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
Salary and Work Schedule:
-Must be able to work a flexible schedule as mileage varies week to week. Some weekends and overnight stays are required, but will vary
-Pay depends upon experience, and will be discussed during interview
