Job description

  • Assisting with the harvesting of all wet product at various cultivation sites, including pre-harvest defoliation.
  • Following harvests, cleaning and maintaining the equipment of the Harvest Department.
  • Working with other Lightshade departments to help with cannabis related tasks when there is down time.
  • Maintaining facility and company compliance with Federal WPS standards.
  • Maintaining compliance with company respiratory protection program.
  • Maintaining adherence to company PPE.
  • Maintaining facility cleanliness and sanitation standards in all Harvesting related areas.
  • Assisting other Post-Harvest and Cultivation teams as needed such as dry room breakdown, trimming, packaging, bucket burping, pruning, etc.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES:

  • Strong horticultural skills and knowledge of Cannabis sativa.
  • Strong understanding and identification of cannabis health issues.
  • Familiarity with Post Harvest related products and equipment.
  • Basic aptitude with Microsoft office and Google suite products.
  • This candidate must take initiative, be proactive, highly organized, positive and enthusiastic.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with superiors, peers, and subordinates professionally and effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between locations during work hours as needed
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least one year of commercial cannabis processing experience is strongly preferred.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must possess an occupational badge through the Colorado Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division at the time employment begins.

The Harvest Technician reports to the Post Production Manager and is responsible for carrying out cannabis harvesting tasks. The Harvest Technician works as part of a team to complete weekly cannabis harvests as well as other post-production tasks post-harvest. The Harvest Technician must ensure compliance with all applicable State/Federal regulations and company SOPs while carrying out Processing related tasks.
