Job description

PURPOSE
The primary responsibilities for this position are testing and validating electromechanical productsand sub-systems against product requirements for the high-speed document scanning industry.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review product requirements
  • Design, document, and perform adequate functional, performance, and regression tests on all new hardware releases
  • Responsible for the design and development of test scenarios, test harnesses, and hardware environments and systems including source code control and issue tracking
  • Develop and execute Engineering experiments in support of new technology and product development
  • Document any issues identified in ibml products through Azure DevOps (TFS)
  • Document testing progress through regular updates in TFS
  • Maintain QA/Engineering hardware assets, including scanners and parts
  • Responsible for continuing to run and drive volume testing on Engineering system assets
  • Works closely with the Hardware Engineering team to ensure released hardware is up to organizational standards
  • Familiar with practices and procedures of end users
  • Uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Shares knowledge/information and keeps fellow employees and management informed
  • Provides feedback in Engineering Requirement Reviews and Engineering Design Reviews
  • Assist in resolving Customer Service issues that have been escalated to Engineering
  • Provides Hardware training and support to other team members

PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
    • Familiar and comfortable working with hand tools to perform system dis-assembly and assembly
    • Able to follow assembly work instructions
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
    • Ongoing drive for continuous improvement

  • Preferred:
    • Five years of QA experience in a position dealing with end users, business systems, and/or imaging equipment
    • Experience with scanning hardware, or other relevant hardware, testing/support experience
    • Experience with Microsoft operating systems and office productivity software
