The Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) business is experiencing unprecedented growth. Our new state of the art development center in Austin, Texas is the home for our next generation technical solutions. Engineers will develop flight and mission-critical products for more than 170 commercial and military customers. You will have the opportunity to help design and develop the next generation: Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls, Aircraft Engine Controls, Ground Vehicle Power Management Systems, Aircraft Electrification Systems, Advanced Air Mobility Systems, Autonomous Flight Systems, Flight Deck Systems, Cabin Management Systems, Weapon Control Systems, and Mission Systems for the world's most prominent commercial and military aircraft and vehicle manufacturers.
Candidates for this position can expect to work in mid-size teams that are cooperative, dependable, and supportive, working both co-located in a hybrid environment and geographically distributed. These roles involve a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work and will take the form of a hybrid work schedule, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Electrical Engineering - Digital typical duties include:
- Design, analysis and verification of Digital circuits for FPGA and microcontroller interfaces such as PCIE, SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, DDR, Ethernet, ARINC, 1553, etc.
- Circuit design tasks consists of part selection, schematic capture, PWB creation support, performance analysis and simulation and design verification testing.
- Design and analyze electrical circuits, electronic modules and or subsystems using simulation tools and physical prototypes.
- Work with best-in-class electrical tools from EDA vendors including Synopsys, Keysight, Siemens, Mentor and PSPICE to bring your hardware designs from concepts to reality.
- Test and debug new printed board assemblies, components and or subsystems in a laboratory environment.
- Work collaboratively in small to large teams to design novel solutions to complex design requirements.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
The following education, skills and experiences are required in order to be considered for the role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field, and minimum of 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
- Ability to work effectively on a team either on-site or remotely. Opportunity is Hybrid.
- Willingness to perform a wide variety of related task
- Working knowledge of drawing and configuration management practices.
- Communicates effectively both orally and in writing
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
The below experiences and skills are preferred but NOT required to be qualified for this position. This position is open for a range of career levels and BAE Systems will work with candidates to find a role that best aligns to their experiences.
- Familiarity with military and/or commercial standards
- Proven ability to effectively lead a small team in the solution of open ended problems.
- Proven ability to coach and teach others in the organization.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
