Job description

Who are we? Tom’s Complete Construction (TCC) is a construction company that completes property renovations on Single-Family Homes, Duplexes, and smaller multi-family buildings. The construction team works in conjunction with Fischer Asset Management to carry out property renovations and typical property management functions for maintenance and day-to-day operations.

The cool part about us – we are growing rapidly. Ownership has been purchasing property faster than renovations are being completed, so we are constantly attempting to hire for skilled maintenance and construction personnel to meet that demand. We believe the job market is filled with individuals searching for a company that they can grow with and offer the opportunity for advancement.

TCC feels strongly that the properties we are renovating are creating improved and better-quality housing options out in the communities we do work in. So what will this role do for us then?

The Handyman/Carpenter for Tom’s Complete Constuction works at the various property sites that are in the rehab phase of the asset improvement plan. This role takes direction from the Director of Field Operations and Director of Maintenance on a daily basis as outlined in the responsibilities below.

  • Survey buildings and ensure mechanical systems comply with health and safety standards.
  • Perform maintenance on electrical systems (e.g., replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels).
  • Assist in setting up ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems, and conduct repairs as needed.
  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
  • Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when necessary.
  • Carry out manual repairs when needed (e.g., fix locks, replace windows).
  • Perform general upkeep procedures such as landscaping and other assigned tasks (e.g., painting, carpentry).

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a handyman, carpenter, or maintenance technician.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Familiarity with tools, common appliances, and devices.
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
  • Good physical condition and strength, with a willingness to work overtime.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in building maintenance technology or a relevant field is a plus.

In exchange for your skills and experience we offer the following:

  • Hourly Pay – we thought you might want to get paid for your time
  • NO ON-CALL after hours rotation currently
