Position Summary:
Responsible for loading, unloading, receiving/storing, shipping materials and inventory control of products from the pier or warehouse. Position is also responsible for updating company systems reflecting status of orders in transit as well as updating internal customers on status of deliveries and shipments, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Processes receiving and/or shipping transactions handheld barcode scanner.
- Verifies vendor paperwork against actual deliveries.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Assembles ships orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Loads and unloads containers at the logistics center in accordance with procedures established by management.
- Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
- May perform pre-checking procedures at vendor locations prior to vessel loading.

Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience in a warehouse environment
- High School diploma
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to verbally communicate tactfully with department heads, managers, coworkers, shipboard employees, longshoremen and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
- Be familiar with creating and editing spreadsheets, working in and updating Remedy and JDE, Lotus Notes, a general knowledge of a computer since half of the work is done on the computer
- Ability to operate fork lift and/or pallet jacks.
- Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, shipboard employees, vendors, etc.
