HALFWAY HOUSE ATTENDANT

What We’re Looking For:
Chester Valley Golf Club is looking for dedicated Halfway House Attendants to enthusiastically serve CVGC members and their guests. They will work closely with and handle additional tasks as requested by the Food & Beverage management team. HH Attendants will serve golfing members while ensuring the highest quality of service and hospitality is always delivered. CVGC is looking for HH Attendants who will work independently, as well as part of a team, with flexibility and eagerness to learn and to take initiative on a variety of responsibilities.
Job Tasks/Duties:
- Inspects the Halfway House, inside and outside, prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available.
- Cleans and sets up service area, following all opening and closing procedure checklists.
- Greets members and guests while providing immediate attention and service to them upon entry to any of the dining areas.
- Takes beverage and serves food orders. Serves drinks and food to members and guests at Halfway House window.
- Clears soiled dishes throughout service and following completion of service.
- Cleans all assigned work areas in the kitchen and service area pertaining to the Halfway House (inside and outside).
- Completes all closing functions such as restocking all products, restocking disposables, and washing dishes.
- Accurately records all member and guest charges in POS on member accounts.
- Reports complaints to management as they occur.
- Consistently maintains a clean area, ensures equipment is kept clean throughout service, and all health code protocols are being followed to ensure food safety compliance at all times.
- Ensures that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated, and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards from occurring, and takes precautions against possible spoilage.
- Accurately records all product spoilage and submits it to management.
- Attends staff meetings including pre-shift (line-up) sessions and training as required.
- Carefully follows all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service and informs manager if continued service to a member or guest is in question.
- Thanks members and guests; invites them to return.
- Constantly follows all food safety-related requirements and regulations.
- Completes other appropriate work assignments as requested by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of position expectations.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Ensure all Club rules and standards are met by Members and their guests. Communicates with supervisor when they are not.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
- Comply with basic safety and sanitation requirements.
- Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of all menu items, preparations methods, ingredients, garnishes and beverage lists.
- Ability to execute all service types requested.
- Basic knowledge of club’s POS system or comparable POS system preferred.
- Knowledgeable of all aspects of department and daily club operations, including events and operating hours.
- Ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Ability to work at large or small events with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Assures that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and outdoor conditions, as well as noisy environments.
- Independent mobility throughout the clubhouse.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
- Must have a high level of physical fitness.
- Must be comfortable completing continuous repetitive motions.
- Unusual working conditions: May be scheduled nights, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime; may work indoors or outdoors in a variety of weather conditions; working with wet/slippery floors, sharp objects, fumes and electrical equipment.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year of service experience (preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of the private club industry’s food and beverage operations (preferred).
- Must have open availability for flexible scheduling.
- Must have an approachable disposition.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with Jonas software system (preferred, but not required).
Licenses and Special Requirements
- Current ServSafe Food safety certification (preferred but not required).
- Must be 18 years or older to remain in compliance with the legal age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages in PA.
- Current RAMP Alcoholic beverage certification (preferred but not required).
