Description:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.


Assists passengers by providing current information to airline operations; safety and security regulations; ground transportation resources; food, beverage, and retail options; accommodation; passenger tracking; and available passenger resources within CCAA; aids in emergency situations and distributes basic necessities for customers stranded due to weather related shutdowns and diversions; and acts as liaison between customers and staff communicating timely information to CCAA employees in response to emergencies and passenger requests/issues.


Portrays a positive company image: engages in professional and friendly communication with all stakeholders; communicates with Aviation Authority officials, supervisor, other employees, clients, vendors, tenants, third party service contractors, laborers, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange formation, or resolve problems.


Utilizes technology to assist customers’ information requests: maintains current knowledge of Charleston County Aviation Authority by attending trainings and briefings; maintains current knowledge of tourism events/attractions to assist travelers with inquiries and make recommendations.


Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures: receives and reviews various documentation, and reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.


Operates or uses various equipment and supplies in order to complete work assignments: operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.

Requirements:

Requires the level of formal education typically acquired by high school graduation or acquisition of a GED. Requires very moderate vocational experience in customer/Guest Services. Involves knowledge and comprehension of techniques, information, methods, procedures, which are related to specific jobs and which can be acquired from some combination of vocational training, apprentice training, on the job training, or essential experience in lower level jobs during a period of up to one year.


Must be able to work rotating 8 hour shifts between 7am-8pm that rotates every 28 days.
